Points of You Group Coaching Experience

A Reflective Journey Through Photos and Words

Discover how the Points of You group coaching program uses photos, keywords, and guided storytelling to help participants reflect on their past, present, and future. Learn the 3-step process, key insights, and participant reflections from this unique coaching experience.

A Meaningful Coaching Experience at the Edge of Summer

Spring has quietly passed, and it already feels like the early days of summer.
As the sun grows warmer, I wanted to share a special experience from my coaching class—
my participation in the Points of You group coaching program.

At the final stage of the session, we were asked to commit to something we would do within 24 hours.
Naturally, I chose to write about this meaningful journey. 😊

What Is Points of You? A Creative Coaching Method Using Photos and Keywords

Points of You is a distinctive coaching methodology that helps participants explore their inner world through:

  • evocative photos,
  • symbolic keywords, and
  • structured reflective questions.

This method allows individuals to examine their past, assess their present, and envision their future in a deeply personal way.

Although it felt unfamiliar in the beginning, the uncertainty quickly dissolved.
As the program progressed, I found myself immersed in a gentle and profound journey of self-reflection.

How the Session Begins: Grounding Through Meditation

The group coaching session opens with a short meditation.
This grounding moment helps participants shift their attention inward.

Afterward, the facilitator invites everyone to choose one Points of You card from the center of the table.
Each card includes:

  • a photo depicting a specific moment or mood, and
  • a keyword associated with the image.

With the card selected, participants are guided through a storytelling-based reflection process.
Randomly paired partners (1:1) then share their stories and insights, expanding each other’s perspectives.

The Three-Step Points of You Coaching Process

The core of the program unfolds in three reflective stages.
At each stage, participants receive a new photo card that deepens the exploration.

1. The Half-Filled Cup — Reflecting on the Past

Using the chosen photo, participants recall:

  • what they have done well,
  • moments of achievement, and
  • memories they are grateful for.

2. The Remaining Half — Exploring Regrets and Limitations

This step focuses on:

  • areas of life that feel incomplete,
  • missed opportunities, and
  • important reflections that require revisiting.

3. The Joker Card — Imagining a Future Without Limits

Like a wildcard, this step invites participants to imagine their ideal future:

  • What would you try if anything were possible?
  • What is your genuine desire moving forward?

This becomes a powerful moment of hope and possibility.

How Three Photos Opened Unexpected Pathways of Thought

Each phase began with a completely different photo card—yet each image triggered an unexpected part of my inner world.

The photos helped me connect:

  • my past strengths,
  • my present challenges, and
  • my future aspirations,

all through a combination of images, words, and guided storytelling.

It was a moment where I truly felt the transformative power of photo-based coaching.

What Participants Shared: Honest Reflections and Insights

At the end of the program, participants offered heartfelt feedback:

  • “It was amazing how differently we interpreted the same photo.”
  • “Looking back at my life made me realize what I need to improve and what I should fill my cup with.”
  • “My past and the future I want naturally connected through the cards.”
  • “The way the photo, the keyword, and the questions aligned with my story was incredible.”
  • “I felt a strong desire to restore balance in my life.”
  • “We all live our own lives differently, yet our struggles are so similar.”
  • “Photos helped expand my thinking in ways I didn’t expect.”

Points of You revealed how images help uncover new perspectives,
how keywords unlock emotions,
and how reflective questions expand awareness.

Closing Reflections: Connecting Past, Present, and Future

Through this group coaching experience, I was able to:

  • revisit my past with gratitude,
  • understand my present with honesty, and
  • explore my future with renewed clarity.

Talking with fellow participants gave me strength,
and the program left me with a lingering sense of introspection and inspiration.

I’m deeply grateful to everyone who shared this journey with me,
and to the professor who led the session with such warmth and presence.
