The Power of Positive Affirmations in 2025

Proving the Effectiveness of NLP Goal Setting at a Life Turning Point

The year 2025 became both a test and a new beginning in my life. After closing a long chapter of corporate work, I was required to redefine my life’s direction. More than anything, I needed a way to stay grounded and intentional rather than drifting into complacency. At the start of the year, I made a single, simple commitment: to begin each day consciously.

A Morning Ritual That Sets the Day: My Commitment and Positive Affirmations

Even now, every morning begins the same way. I stand in front of my desk and read aloud two pages posted on the wall. This daily practice of positive affirmations, which I decided on at the beginning of the year, has continued for nearly twelve months. As the year comes to a close, I naturally find myself reflecting on how this simple habit has influenced my life.

The first page is titled “My Commitment.” It is a declaration of how I choose to live each day and the direction I intend to take in life. Reading it aloud with good posture helps me internalize its meaning. A positive mindset, gratitude, attention to the present, learning from the past, envisioning the future, planning and taking action, and sustaining challenges. These are not grand slogans, but practical anchors that help me live with greater awareness each day.

The second page is called “Dreams Achieved in 2025.” Based on NLP goal-setting principles, I rewrote my goals in completed form, as if they had already been achieved. This approach reduces unconscious resistance and allows the mind to visualize success more naturally. Speaking these statements aloud every morning, right after my commitment, has quietly become a habit.

A One-Year Record: How Positive Affirmations Became Reality

As the year draws to a close, I found myself wondering what results this seemingly small routine had actually produced. With curiosity, I traced the path my life had taken over the past year.

In terms of health and exercise, I was not perfectly consistent. However, I did hike Bongseo Mountain whenever time allowed, and I managed to stay healthy without any major illness. Small efforts accumulated into a meaningful baseline of well-being.

Financial independence remains a work in progress. While I have not yet defined a clear professional role, I continue to design and experiment with my own economic system. It may be incomplete, but the fact that I remain consciously engaged in the process matters.

Academically, I completed the entire MBA program. Grades aside, what matters more is that I pursued the learning I truly wanted, without regret. For that, I give myself generous credit.

As a professional coach, earning the KPC certification marked a clear achievement. The preparation was not easy, but obtaining the credential before graduation made the outcome deeply satisfying. At the same time, I remind myself that a certification guarantees nothing by itself. My coaching journey must continue with humility and patience.

In writing and publishing, I did not reach my goal of releasing two books. However, the direction has become clear. I am currently working on a coaching-related book and have also drafted an early manuscript for a future publication. Although my activity on Brunch has paused, I have begun documenting my work on a new writing platform, WordPress. The plan is alive, even if unfinished.

In golf, I did not yet become a single-digit player. Various commitments in the second half of the year affected my focus and performance. Still, I have identified the core issues and corrected my form, allowing this goal to roll naturally into next year.

The Brain Cannot Distinguish Truth from Falsehood

Looking back at the commitments I made at the beginning of the year, I see clear evidence of sincere effort. These goals may seem modest to others, but for me, they represented a process of rebuilding my life. What stands out most is how daily positive affirmations translated into real behavior. Simply by speaking these words aloud, I found myself making choices aligned with them.

In NLP, there is a well-known presupposition: the brain cannot distinguish truth from falsehood. What is repeated consistently is eventually treated as reality. By declaring my commitments and achieved dreams every morning, my brain accepted them as facts and guided me in that direction. Was this coincidence, or the result of conscious intention?

Closing Thoughts: The Future Is Shaped by Choice

I cannot say with certainty that the future will be clear or bright. What I do know is that how I shape an uncertain future depends entirely on my own choices. Through 2025, I learned this simple truth in a deeply embodied way: how you begin your day can change the direction of your life.

What kind of future do you want to create? I invite you to start by speaking it into existence tomorrow morning, with your own voice.
